The Holiday Season is in full swing but we all found time this past Sunday to put work aside and celebrate Sykes' many achievements and successes in 2024. We work well as a team but it's great to spend time together as friends. This year Darien introduced the Sykes ICE Award, acknowledging Integrity, Creativity, and Excellence. This inaugural year had two recipients! Justin S. Sampson, P.E., S.E., LEED AP and Robin Philpot. Congratulations and well deserved! We ended the party with a 'white elephant' gift exchange, always the most fun part of the event. Extra thanks to Darien Sykes and Natasha Sykes for the amazing gifts and for all that you do for us throughout the year. We took a short break from the bustle of deadlines and project demands to do a little 'competitive' bowling at Bowlero Lanes in Atlantic Station. We sang Happy Birthday to Martin Kigudde and spent time getting to know our two newest employees, Sayali Patil, CMIT? and Estefania Vielma. We are excited to have them as part of the Sykes Team! Now for the Bowling highlights: Shawn Green walked away with the highest score of the evening, but Justin S. Sampson, P.E., S.E., LEED AP beat him in the 'Winners Circle' game which included Mariangel Mogollon and Christian Campos. Evan Black was the winner of 'most games played', playing up to 5 games at the same time! It's always fun getting out of the office to spend time with the Team! #StructuralEngineering #Bowling

Early Tuesday morning the SYKES team went to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to watch the sun rise on sections 6-10 of the Concourse D Widening project. 'Lift Day' was a success!! We have been hard at work for months, so heading to Bury The Hatchet in Inman Park was just the thing!! We have some fiercely competitive people but it's what makes a competitive event like this so much fun!
