    In 5 years single member recruiting "teams" will be responsible for scaling, leading and managing a company from 0-1000+ employees. The current trend of doing more with less will continue to compound exponentially. The TA leader of the future will be responsible for everything and will actually be *more* efficient and effective than the recruiting orgs of today. So, "what does this person look like"? What skills do the recruiters of the future have to successfully leverage emerging technologies at hyper velocity? In our opinion (Syelo Ventures) there are 4 key traits/skills that the recruiter of tomorrow will manifest exceptionally: 1. Master connectors/network builders. Today process driven TA leaders thrive given the complexity & customization of hiring/interviewing processes - AI tools will make systems creation/maintenance less important through automation. The only true "asset" a Talent Leader will bring to the table is the relationships they have invested in and the ability to create those relationships at scale. 2. Technical acumen. The future leaders of TA *will build their own*, custom, lightweight, agentic tools specific to their organization. SaaS providers will provide monolithic tooling but TA leaders will build for the nuances of their team leveraging platforms like Replit (shoutout to Amjad Masad and Haya Odeh). 3. Data analysis. AI will collect, aggregate and present massive data sets against the TA funnel. TA leaders will analyze this data and make the strategic decisions that drive efficiencies and outcomes. 4. Role agnostic. Today hyper growth hiring teams like to hire recruiting specialist (IE: GTM recruiters, software recruiters, hardware recruiters, etc.), specializations will become significantly less important. The TA leaders of the future hire agnostically and leverage educational tooling to upskill quickly on emerging trends/technologies that impact their organization. The blend we believe will take over the TA world is: 25% data analyst, 25% strategist, 40% relationship builder, 10% custom tooling designer/builder. Start getting ready.

    Very excited to announce that today we at Syelo Ventures are launching a $25m fund for Talent Leaders. The reality is that our profession has no direct path to c-suite, limited opportunities to generate significant wealth, and minimal career stability/longevity. $10b is spent annually by recruiters on tooling that usually sucks. 99.9% of the solutions in the space were not built by us and it shows. That changes today. By bringing together a community of the world's best and brightest recruiters we create collective buying power that will redefine the industry for generations. As an incubator we have one core focus: for us by us. Over the next 5 years our community will ideate, test, buy, partner and roadmap over 100 different tools launching 15-20 products that cumulatively generate $500m+ in ARR.     Last week we Syelo Ventures were incredibly lucky to host our newest Senior Advisor Carla H. McIntosh for an Executive Fireside Chat! Hands-down one of the best conversations I have had on the state of TA, career navigation/optimization, and the future of our function. Here are my key take-aways: 1) Talent Leaders do not always do the best job of demonstrating value. It is core to our role and function to be a strategic value add to the business, and one way of doing that is understanding the business inside and out. 2) All recruiters, regardless of skill level should be willing to roll up their sleeves and source at an extremely high level. 3) The relationship with your CFO is paramount. 4) Embrace AI & Automation. Become an expert in the newest tools being developed. 5) The future of TA is data heavy. AI can automate and optimize data but someone needs to interpret it. Strongly recommended that TA leaders invest in some type of data analyst certification.

Recruiting has no "alumni association" and because of that there is a massive gap in information sharing that typically happens between seasoned executives and up-and-coming leaders. As a community we believe deeply in bridging that gap and creating learning and mentorship opportunities for our members through?a network of seasoned executives. Carla has spent over 25 years leading and building and leading world class teams at brands like?Reddit, Google, and Robert Half. We are extremely excited to be collaborating with such an incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, thoughtful, and passionate?leader in our space.
