We had a fantastic time celebrating the sponsors who make impactful work possible at this year’s Urban Land Institute Thank You Event last night at Alpha Brewing Company. Special thanks to Ben Poremba, acclaimed chef, local restaurateur, and owner of Bengelina Hospitality Group, for joining us and sharing insights on the intersections of food, community, and place-making. It's always inspiring to connect with leaders who are shaping the future of our built environments. Thank you to ULI for hosting such a thoughtful event!

SWT Design is thrilled to announce the grand opening of Glendell Acres in Edgerton, KS! This new park brings the community an array of exciting amenities: a playground, fitness obstacle course, picnic pavilion, skatespot, and a scenic loop trail. Designed to offer something for all ages, Glendell Acres balances active and passive spaces for everyone to enjoy. Drawing inspiration from Edgerton's natural character, we integrated local limestone into seating and signage. These details connect the park with the new Recreation Center and outdoor space, The Greenspace, creating a cohesive design across the city. We deeply value our partnership with Edgerton and are honored to help shape spaces where all ages can come together. A big thank you to the Mayor, City Council, City staff, community members, and all our partners for bringing this vision to life. Here’s to many years of memories and connection in Glendell Acres!

Honoring the brave individuals who have served our country. This Veterans Day, we’re reflecting on the importance of our work in creating spaces that pay tribute to their service. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege to design several veterans' memorial projects that help ensure their legacy endures in the communities they protected. Today, we’re proud to showcase some of these meaningful projects, each crafted to honor, remember, and inspire. Thank you to all who have served. #VeteransDay #HonoringOurHeroes #MemorialDesign

Exciting to see impactful transportation improvements happening in Rolla, Missouri! The realignment of University Drive, a key project for the Move Rolla Transportation Development District, directly addresses congestion relief while enhancing the campus arrival experience at Missouri University of Science and Technology. This 150-foot-diameter roundabout merges functionality with thoughtful design to create a smoother traffic flow from Highway 63. Check out the recent feature in the October issue of Landscape Architect and Specifier News to learn more! Special thanks to our partners for their hard work and collaboration on this project: Missouri University of Science and Technology, Musselman & Hall Contractors, Missouri Department of Transportation, and the City of Rolla.
For the past 18 years, residents of Rolla, Missouri have consistently identified transportation, particularly congestion relief, as a top priority. As such, the Move Rolla Transportation Development District (Move Rolla TDD) has undertaken several projects to improve transportation, with one of the most notable being the realignment of University Drive. Missouri University of Science and Technology's (Missouri S&T) 2020 Campus Master Plan also highlighted this realignment as essential for enhancing the arrival experience to the campus. A realignment project of University Drive in Rolla, Missouri was led by St. Louis-based landscape architecture firm SWT Design, Inc. This roundabout features a 150-foot-diameter center paving and turf island, and was designed to alleviate traffic constraints from the connected Highway 63. Our Louisville Studio had a blast at Floyd County's Halloween Trunk or Treat, hosting a booth to spark excitement for the future of Floyd County Parks! We're thrilled to be working on two exciting projects: introducing a new regional park, originally a historic farmstead, and breathing new life into Sam Peden Park through clean-up efforts. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to share their thoughts and feedback – your input is crucial in helping us shape spaces that bring our community together. Stay tuned for more updates on these parks!

SWT is excited to be working on the Trolley Track Trail connection through Brookside, extending from 62nd Terrace to Meyer Blvd. This trail will enhance safety and accessibility for pedestrians while encouraging more active lifestyles through running, biking, and walking. We recently hosted our second community engagement event, gathering valuable feedback from neighbors, local business owners, and others who live, work, and shop in the area. Their input will help shape the design to best meet the needs of the entire Brookside, Missouri community!
