    Building hardware from scratch, and particularly hardware for AI healthcare, is no small feat. But if we're serious about Patient recovery, simple app-based videos just aren't enough. When we set out to build the new Thrive Pad - our computer vision device - we foresaw a road of (interesting) challenges ahead of us: now that we've conquered them and brought it to life, we sat down with 3 key team members who helped build it - Pedro Henrique Santos, Luís Oliveira and Gustavo Burmester - to reflect on the journey, the lessons learned, and the wins along the way.

    In just two months this year, more clients have switched from our direct competitor to us than in the last three years combined. Sales-centric companies excel at closing deals but traditionally fail to deliver on the promises made. After a few years, the market catches on, clients realize they’re not getting real value and then comes the snowball effect, which is exactly what we’re seeing in our space right now. On that note, I learned something the other day that I found incredibly insightful: “A satisfied customer tells three friends; an angry customer tells 300” I later found out that the origins of this saying trace back to a 1980 study commissioned by Coca-Cola’s consumer affairs department. The research found that unhappy customers told a median of 9–10 people about their experience, while completely satisfied customers shared their positive experiences with a median of 4–5 people. Lesson here: Make real promises to clients and deliver on them, even if it means losing some deals along the way. Your future self will thank you.
