Our outreach department is out and about, sharing information about our services! Did you know SWLA CHS offers an on-campus medical clinic staffed by a nurse practitioner at its Main Campus in Lake Charles. The Health Center is available to students, faculty, and staff at all three locations only. The Health Center accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and all commercial insurance. However, you will not be turned away regardless of insurance or financial status. SWLA Center for Health Services is a proud supporter of SOWELA Technical Community College!

What a partnership we have with Aetna, a CVS Health Company! Stay tuned for the upcoming events we will be hosting with Aetna!
On this past Friday, Aetna, a CVS Health Company and SWLA Center for Health Services teamed up to host a Community Baby Shower in Lake Charles, LA. The purpose of this event was to improve maternal health outcomes by educating new and expectant parents and sharing available resources. The topics included: Maternal Health, Pediatrics, Breastfeeding/Lactation, Nutrition, Car Seat Safety and Safe Sleep. The presenters did an excellent job which helped with engagement of the attendees. We had a cute little volunteer who assisted in the car seat safety demonstration. The turnout exceeded my expectations because you never know what to expect when hosting events. Thank you to all of the community partners who came out to share available resources and to the food and balloon backdrop vendors. Thank you to Ms. Stephanie and her team at the MLK Center for always opening their doors to bring these events to the community! It’s always a pleasure working with the community outreach team at SWLA Center for Health Services! Thank you, Ashley C. Madison, for traveling to assist with this event!
