?? Speaker Spotlight: Kirsten Millar ?? Kirsten is here to redefine the Virtual Power Plants acronym, VPP - with all the best characteristics: visible, predictable, and precise?. Next generation VPPs have all this and more. Here’s another motivating acronym for you: LFG (Let's Flipping Go!) In her talk, "Visible, Predictable, and Precise - Redefining VPPs," Kirsten will redefine what VPPs mean, especially moving forward! Additionally, shout out to Virtual Peaker - Kristen's company and one of the fantastic Switch Colorado sponsors this year! Kirsten has devoted the past 14 years to decarbonizing the energy industry. With tenure at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Tendril/Uplight, and RMI, Kirsten’s role at Virtual Peaker is to positively influence utilities’ distributed energy strategies and coalesce complementary technology and services to meet client needs. Her insights from working at a utility, at a nonprofit think tank, and in the software sector enables her to have a balanced view of what’s possible, what’s likely, and what’s necessary. Her career highlights include supporting hundreds of energy efficiency and demand response proposals, evaluating the best time-of-use rate structure, and facilitating net metering negotiations. With Virtual Peaker, Kirsten is all in on demand flexibility and virtual power plants, building solutions that use software to go beyond traditional demand response. Kirsten has a BA from Whitman College and an MBA and MEM from Duke University. She and her family have lived in Boulder, Colorado for the past 8 years, but there’s a move to Charleston, South Carolina in the works. ??
