February was an incredible month as we celebrated Black History with a series of engaging and inspiring events. One of the highlights of the month was our focus on promoting black-owned businesses. We were privileged to invite Vivian J, the founder and owner of Xpressive Mocha, to share her entrepreneurial journey with us. Vivian's story of perseverance and creativity was both motivating and insightful. Our Heartists were thrilled to hear about her experiences and sample her exquisite handmade products, which truly embodied the spirit of craftsmanship and dedication. In addition, we featured teas from Steepers Only in our cafeteria, allowing everyone to enjoy the rich flavors and support this fantastic black-owned business. Our weekly trivia winners were delighted to receive prizes from various other black-owned businesses, further celebrating their contributions and success. No celebration is complete without a delicious feast! In honor of Black History Month, our talented culinary team curated two exceptional lunches, drawing inspiration from the rich and diverse culinary traditions rooted in Black culture. February also marked our third annual "Give a Little Joy" fundraiser. This heartwarming initiative encouraged our Heartists to give cuddly gifts to their loved ones, with all proceeds going to One Family Illinois. We had a swimmingly fabulous time at our Colleague Holiday Party – Under the Sea! It is always extremely fun, and we count ourselves lucky when we get to be together in one room…AND THE DANCE FLOOR. The night was full of celebrating our achievements of 2024, our Q4 Heartist of the Month Winners, and announcing our Heartist and Leader of the Year!
