Here’s a blueprint to building a solid plate on race day ??? -1/2 starchy carbs -1/4 protein -1/4 colorful foods -Small amounts of healthy fats -The same foods you’ve been used to eating! Why does this work well for full meals on race day? This plate ensures you have plenty of energy available and are able to recover between sessions, without feeling heavy or getting an upset stomach. Everyone’s plate will look a little bit different, but most athletes find that colorful foods that are lower in fiber work the best on race day (especially the closer it gets to race time).
