Saving and Changing Lives through Water Safety and Swim Skill Education
关于我们
Swim Strong Foundation is a 501c3 (EIN 37-1526132) volunteer run not for profit that is saving and changing lives through water safety and swimming education. We save lives by offering affordable swim programs from the most beginning levels through competitive. We are stopping the drowning. We change lives by: Educating families about the importance of exercise coupled with good nutrition to avoid type 2 diabetes; leading to obesity. Challenging children to learn the life lessons of commitment, goal setting self-discipline, persistency, team work and resiliency through competitive swimming. Lessons that transcend the pool and are applied in the school room all the way to the board room. Inspiring strong swimmers to explore other water based sports such as water polo, synchro, surfing, rowing, kayaking, diving etc. some of which offer college scholarships.

Swimming skills are NOT enough. Since 2018, Swim Strong Foundation has taught more than 51,500 people a program focused on situational knowledge of water. This includes understanding the nature, behavior, risk and danger of various water bodies.?Examples:?man made as in swimming pools, quarries, reservoirs and weirs to natural water such as ponds,?streams, lakes, rivers and oceans.??It also includes the conditions of those waters and how they may be impacted after certain occurrences.?For example water temperature and quality which may be effected by storms, etc. Know your environment in order to anticipate different situations that may arise so you are able to plan your response for safest outcomes.?This includes places you are likely to find water:?in our homes to varied places outdoors; across the seasons and now including extreme weather of climate action.? Situational knowledge of water is needed by ALL of us regardless of swimming skills.?This includes balancing the tremendous benefits associated with water for our physical and mental well being with our own engagement in risk and risky behaviors in on and around water.??It includes historical knowledge (what I have learned), with current realities (what am I seeing/experiencing at the moment);?using these factors to determine the best possible outcomes for personal safety. Want to know more? How to bring this programming into your classrooms? [email protected] Watch this 3 min video to understand water safety very differently https://lnkd.in/eqHV3YUD
