Over three days in January, 234 of Microsoft's newest Aspire hires gathered in Bellevue, Washington, to immerse themselves in Microsoft’s culture, explore the connection between personal well-being and professional success, and expand their global network. Swift Group was proud to provide event management support for this dynamic and impactful experience.

Estelle Thyer, Senior Event Manager at Swift Group, recently sat down with fellow Swiftie, Event Producer Kylie Wolfin, to discuss her latest work travels for Microsoft Aspire, an internal learning and development program for early-in-career and MBA new hires joining Microsoft as full time employees. ?????????????? ??????????: Hey Kylie, so good to see you! Thanks for making the time to chat with me today. ?????????? ????????????: Hi Estelle! Of course, I’m excited to be here and talk about my most recent travels. ??????????????: So, what event were you supporting? ??????????: I was supporting the Microsoft Aspire Stay Strong event. ??????????????: That sounds interesting! Where did you travel for the event? ??????????: We traveled to Tokyo, Japan, and then flew to China where we had events in Beijing and Suzhou. ??????????????: Wow, that's quite a journey! What did you learn from your experience? ??????????: I gained a deeper appreciation for the impact of in-person events and their lasting impression on attendees. One key takeaway was the importance of considering language diversity—since English isn't always the native language—using live translated captions in PowerPoint can be incredibly valuable. It was also amazing to experience different cultures and hear insights from Microsoft employees worldwide. ??????????????: That's great advice. Will you share any learnings or do you have any tips for other event management professionals? ??????????: Traveling for work can be exhausting, so it’s important to carve out little moments for yourself—whether that’s grabbing a coffee, a snack, or just taking a breather. Being prepared ahead of time also makes a big difference. Researching transportation options, especially in cities with great public transit like Tokyo, can help everything go more smoothly. ??????????????: Excellent tips! What's next for you that you're excited about? ??????????: I’m currently working on several events for Microsoft Aspire, but I’m especially excited about the Start Strong event this October in Seattle. It’s an incredible chance to welcome people from around the world, introduce them to Microsoft, and help them build connections. For many attendees, it’s their first time traveling abroad for work, so it’s amazing to be part of their journey as they experience a new culture and environment. ??????????????: Wow, thanks for sharing, Kylie!
