The AEP Foundation, at the request of SWEPCO, recently provided LSU Health Sciences Foundation-Shreveport a $20,000 grant to purchase an additional piece of lifesaving technology on behalf of Ochsner LSU Health. The funding went toward purchasing a transesophgeal echocardiogram (TEE) machine that gives providers more detailed and accurate pictures of a heart than a traditional echocardiogram. "We are honored to contribute to Ochsner LSU Health's efforts to enhance cardiac care through our $20,000 grant from the American Electric Power Foundation to the LSU Health Sciences Foundation,” said SWEPCO External Affairs Manager Michael Corbin. “This follows our previous support of $25,000 for the purchase of an ICU regulator, highlighting our commitment to strengthening Shreveport as a regional medical hub. By collaborating with local healthcare providers, we aim to improve patient diagnosis and treatment, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our community."

Our dedicated SWEPCO teams have been working hard to assist with power restoration efforts in Florida. We're appreciative of the base camps set up by Tampa Electric, and here’s a glimpse of the army of resources gathered along with SWEPCO to offer assistance ? Our linemen, Dillon, from Texarkana, and Robert from Mt. Pleasant, TX are seen in their work buckets making crucial repairs to get the lights back on for those affected. In some areas, our teams are dealing with significant damage, especially where a tornado, that spun off from the hurricane, caused extensive destruction to power lines. We’re proud of the hard work and dedication our crews are putting in to help restore power safely and swiftly. A big thank you to all the families supporting these efforts from home! #MutualAid #SWEPCO #PoweringThrough #HurricaneMilton
