When Claire Banasky was 11, her mom noticed her legs were misaligned. She saw Dr. Laurel Saliman, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Providence Swedish, who diagnosed her with genu valgum (knock-knee). Despite initial anxiety, Claire had a smooth surgery experience with the Swedish Orthopedic Institute team. Their child-friendly approach made her comfortable, and the surgery was successful. Today, Claire is a junior at the University of Portland, a Division 1 rower, and a coach.
