We are proud to announce that Andrea Jin, lead pharmacist at First Hill Pharmacy, recently received the Making Values a Priority (MVP) award after receiving multiple nominations. Read one of her nominations below: "I want to recognize Andrea for her excellent presentation on antimicrobial stewardship (AMS). Her presentation was very informative, and I heard many attendees mention that they learned a lot! Andrea graciously stepped up and agreed to present at the FH Critical Care (ICU/IMCU) Mentorship Educational Meeting (for nurses) this morning with very little notice (two days)! I had a speaker back out, so I needed to arrange for someone else to present and Andrea kindly agreed. Andrea also was so patient and understanding when I was having difficulties getting Teams to work, I really appreciate her patience." Join us in celebrating Andrea's contributions and commitment to making a positive impact on patients, coworkers and the entire #ProvidenceSwedish community. #MVP #CompassionInAction #ProvidenceSwedish

A recent study revealed Black mothers are 25% more likely to undergo C-sections than white mothers, often feeling unheard and excluded during childbirth. Our JUST Birth and TeamBirth initiatives are changing this narrative. At Swedish First Hill, C-section rates among Black mothers have dropped significantly, now even lower than those of white mothers. Dr. Tanya Sorensen, executive director of Providence Swedish’s Women’s and Children’s Institute, highlights the impact of culturally connected care and team collaboration in improving birthing experiences. We're committed to ending these inequities and ensuring every mother feels heard and supported. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gQNKMtDQ #MaternalHealth #EquityInHealthcare #ProvidenceSwedish
