“Doctors and nurses don't always know the impact they have on their patients. I am thankful to be made to feel welcome and worthy of the best care possible every time I come to see them at Swedish.” Messages like this mean the world to our caregivers. In honor of National Doctors’ Day on March 30, we invite you to share your story of gratitude and consider a gift in support of the doctors who make a difference in our lives every single day.?https://lnkd.in/gK-pFh5n #Doctors #Physicians #DoctorsDay #MakeADifference?

At Swedish, our priority is to provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to every patient, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. Through our LGBTQIA+ Program, we’re proud to offer evidence-based medical care to those in our community. Support for programs like this relies on the generosity of our donors. The average lifespan for a patient diagnosed with glioblastoma, the most aggressive and fatal form of brain cancer, is approximately 13 months. So when a pharmaceutical company went bankrupt, requiring Swedish to foot the bill for a promising glioblastoma drug, donors stepped up to keep the trial going. This generosity ensured that our patients had continued access to life-extending medication. Your generosity saves lives. Thank you to all who have given to support the health and well-being of our community. Thanks to innovative initiatives like Justice Unity Support Trust (JUST) Birth and TeamBirth, Swedish has reduced caesarean section rates for Black, Indigenous, and other underserved mothers to less than 25 percent — an area that, historically, has seen stark disparities in health outcomes. Thank you to JUST Birth founder Sauleiha Akangbe and Swedish Women and Children’s Institute executive director Dr. Tanya Sorensen for their tireless efforts to ensure every mother and baby can have their best start. I'm incredibly proud of the Swedish Women’s and Children’s team and the remarkable success of their efforts to address racial disparities in childbirth outcomes. The results speak volumes and statistics highlight the significant impact of our Justice Unity Support Trust (JUST) Birth and TeamBirth initiatives. The programs ensure that every birthing parent receives the compassionate and personalized care they deserve. Thank you for your leadership, Tanya Sorensen and Sauleiha Akangbe, and to all the caregivers who serve our patients day in and day out. You are truly moving the needle in the most meaningful way. https://lnkd.in/gjpxQfU7 #ProvidenceSwedish #JUSTBirth #Teambirth #healthcare #CommunityCare #Innovation #HealthEquity #MaternalHealth #DoulaCare #CulturalNavigators #BirthSupport

Swedish’s state-of-the-art North Tower project has entered the next stage of construction: steel framing. Every day, as many as eight truckloads of steel are going into place, helping give our hospital of the future its shape. When completed in Fall 2027, this transformative project will enable Swedish to deliver advanced care in our community for generations to come. Thank you to our construction and architectural partners Mortenson and Perkins&Will. “I arrived at Swedish Ballard and was scared because I didn’t know what to expect. The second I walked through the doors, I was greeted with respect and kindness. From that moment on, it was the best experience I have ever had under these circumstances. The team’s attention to detail and their great communication skills left nothing to chance. They made sure I was aware of every little detail. When I was taken to the operating room, I was treated like I was the most important person alive.” Swedish is proud to deliver compassionate care to everyone we have the privilege to serve. At Swedish, we believe in caring for the whole person. Last year, Swedish broke ground on our state-of-the-art North Tower project, which aims to see its first patient in Fall 2027. The project, which will house a brand-new 31-room emergency department and other transformative features for our community, is only made possible due to the generous contributions of our donors. Thank you to all who have given to support the future of medicine, right here in Seattle.
