The average lifespan for a patient diagnosed with glioblastoma, the most aggressive and fatal form of brain cancer, is approximately 13 months. So when a pharmaceutical company went bankrupt, requiring Swedish to foot the bill for a promising glioblastoma drug, donors stepped up to keep the trial going. This generosity ensured that our patients had continued access to life-extending medication. Your generosity saves lives. Thanks to innovative initiatives like Justice Unity Support Trust (JUST) Birth and TeamBirth, Swedish has reduced caesarean section rates for Black, Indigenous, and other underserved mothers to less than 25 percent — an area that, historically, has seen stark disparities in health outcomes. Swedish’s state-of-the-art North Tower project has entered the next stage of construction: steel framing. Every day, as many as eight truckloads of steel are going into place, helping give our hospital of the future its shape. When completed in Fall 2027, this transformative project will enable Swedish to deliver advanced care in our community for generations to come.
