Atrial fibrillation (AFib) is a type of irregular heart rhythm that occurs in approximately 12 million adults in the United States. When left untreated, AFib can lead to serious issues like congestive heart failure or stroke.? Thanks to a generous donation, Swedish launched the Swedish Comprehensive Atrial Fibrillation Network (SCAN) in 2019 to simplify care for patients. With SCAN, median wait times for cardiovascular care have been cut in half so more patients are able to receive the specialty care they need.
