A joint initiative between four Swedish government agencies, promoting Sweden-US green transition collaboration
关于我们
The Green Transition Initiative (GTI) is a joint initiative between the Embassy of Sweden in Washington DC, Business Sweden, the Swedish Energy Agency, and Sweden’s innovation agency Vinnova. The objectives are to position Sweden as a key partner to the United States in its climate transition, connect Swedish and U.S. stakeholders within the green energy ecosystem, and to leverage opportunities in sectors such as electromobility, renewable energy, sustainable industry, and green buildings. By doing so, the initiative aims to contribute to reduced global emissions as well as increased bilateral research and development (R&D) cooperation, trade, and investments between Sweden and the United States. Key values include collaboration, innovation, and sustainability.

During GTI's Green Transition Summit last month, one of the key discussions revolved around tangible solutions for achieving sustainable, green cities. A standout example? The fully electric construction project in Durham, North Carolina, led by a Swedish consortium of industry leaders: Volvo Construction Equipment, Husqvarna Construction, and Atlas Copco. This project is not just a vision - it is a concrete step (literally!) toward electrified construction and sustainable urban development. For the first time, these Swedish companies joined forces to showcase an entire electrified construction site. The results? Reduced emissions, quieter operations, and a clear demonstration of what building electric by electric can achieve globally. Watch the video below to see how this collaboration brings Sweden’s innovative spirit to life together with American partners, and sets the stage for global impact. #GreenTransition #Electrification #Construction #ChargingInfrastructure #SustainableCities

Sweden has a goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2045.?But how does this transformation of society happen? Is it working? How can we envision it? Panorama has one answer: a visualization tool that shows one of several possible paths. Run jointly and frequently updated by the Klimatpolitiska r?det - Swedish Climate Policy Council, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and the Swedish Energy Agency, this project provides a clear and comprehensive overview of ongoing and prospective transitions across various sectors, such as energy, transportation, and industry. It integrates data-driven indicators to monitor progress, offering users insights into how well Sweden is advancing toward its climate goals. The tool also highlights critical policy instruments and initiatives, creating a bridge between high-level strategy and tangible action. The Panorama visualization tool serves as an innovative resource to help Sweden—and potentially other nations—chart their path to net-zero emissions by 2045. By making this complex transformation accessible and transparent, Panorama fosters informed decision-making and public engagement. It’s an example of how visualization can simplify the path toward achieving ambitious climate goals, while holding all actors accountable for their roles in the transition. #greentransition #pioneerthepossible #netzero #climatepolicy
