Last week, I had the opportunity to organize and moderate a panel for the first time. ??? All of this started when Anabel Fraga, PhD CSEP , inspired by the incredible women of Society of Women Engineers she had met, decided to make the University Carlos III de Madrid the first SWE affiliate university in Spain. ?? To celebrate this new beginning, an annual national event was organized through the joint effort of many professionals, led by Inga Urbina. ?? We listened to women with incredible professional trajectories from top engineering companies, learned about public and private science research in Spain, and heard an insightful conversation between professionals who had taken the leap to expand their careers abroad ??. Amidst this inspiring environment, there was a moment for those who had not yet reached that point in their lives but were preparing to: the students ??. My incredible partner, Claudia Vallega, and I, organized this panel with the aim of giving voice to the thoughts of students in order to create a dialogue between them and the companies. I can happily say that both organizing this part of the event and moderating the panel were truly enriching experiences that I hope to repeat. Thanks to Anabel and Inga for trusting me with this responsibility, and to the incredible team of student panelists: Matvey Sinelnik, Alejandra Valera, Isabella Quintero, and Marta Pleite de Jesús for the interesting discussion they created. ?? I feel very lucky to have shared insightful conversations with professionals like Ksenija Maksimovic and Carolina Gregorio, and I am very grateful for the participation of each of the women in science who attended this amazing event. ??
