Building inclusive, student-centered schools requires both restorative leadership and mindful teaching. On Feb. 28, PLCS brought together school leaders in the RECOVS Grant Consortium and PE/HE Consortium members for two essential trainings: Restorative Practices for School & District Leaders with Lori DeCarlo and Mindfulness & PE Best Practices with Anthony Carrano. Through responsive circles, mindful movement, and trauma-informed strategies, these educators are shaping environments where students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. #swbocesplcs

On School Resource Officer (SRO) Day (Feb. 15), we recognize the vital role SROs play in ensuring the safety and well-being of students, staff, and school communities. ???? Their commitment to protecting and mentoring the next generation is truly appreciated. A special shoutout to the Town of Marlborough Police Department, in partnership with the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services, for offering a Basic School Resource Officer (SRO) Course from March 3-7, 2025. This no-cost training will equip officers with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the unique challenges of policing in a school setting, covering topics such as school partnerships, juvenile law, and emergency response tactics. Space is limited, so be sure to get in touch with the Town of Marlborough Police Department for more information and to register. Thank you to all SROs for the work you do every day to support and protect our schools! ??♂???♀? #SchoolResourceOfficerDay #SRO #SchoolSafety #swbocesplcs #CommunityPartnerships
