With just one year of law school left, I'm certain that one of my most treasured experiences will be my role as the 9th Director of Membership for the Supreme Southwest Region of the National Black Law Students Association ("SWBLSA"). I began my term on April 1st, and along with the entire SWBLSA9 board, we have hit the ground running. Recently, more than half of our board traveled to Atlanta, GA for a Joint Board Retreat with six other regions and the national board to prepare to serve Black law students nationwide during the 2024-2025 school year. As the Membership Director of the Supreme Southwest region, the majority of my efforts will be focused on serving the needs of Black law students and their communities in the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Texas. If you are unfamiliar with the National Black Law Students Association, I encourage you to explore, discover, and consider supporting the significant work we are undertaking. NBLSA is very fortunate to have the support and leadership of esteemed alumni such as Theresa Cropper aka “Mama BLSA,” Brandon R. Cahee, Esq. , and Mark A. Dunham, Jr., but there is always room for more??! In addition to alumni support, I am very grateful for the backing of my school, SMU Dedman School of Law, which enables me to fully fulfill my role. A BIG thank you to Dean Erika Simone Fadel, Dean Jason P.
