Meet SWARM. SWARM builds open infrastructure for digital securities. Digital securities are the online representation of fractional ownership of an asset, like a share of stock. One must adhere to certain rules and regulations in order to acquire and trade these assets. SWARM builds some of the technology that makes this possible. Infrastructure is the area where we’ve chosen to focus. Specifically, SWARM builds the guts that enable people to issue digital securities and also to trade these digital securities to others - all in a compliant way. Open - meaning SWARM offers foundational infrastructure for others to build on top of, for free. Examples of other organizations providing open infrastructure are The Mozilla Foundation and WordPress. Open means more choices for people. For example, issuers (the people who own an asset and use SWARM to tokenize it) can issue on the blockchain of their choice: Ethereum, Stellar, or TRON (with more on the way). Speaking of choice... Issuers can also select the currencies of their choice for fundraising, and investors (the people who purchase security tokens) can choose to use any of more than 80 crypto and fiat currencies to compliantly participate in STOs via SWARM’s fundraising module.
