For more than 50 years, the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) has been the leading professional association in the solid waste field. Founded in 1962, the association has 10,000+ members. Our Chapter serves almost 300 members throughout Georgia, and other areas, through conferences, certifications, publications, and technical training courses. SWANA-Georgia represents industry leaders from every discipline in solid waste management. Our chapter provides multiple benefits to our members, including the opportunity to hear about the latest technologies and/or developments in our industry and to network with other solid waste professionals. Our purpose is to: ? Educate solid waste management professionals and decision makers by providing training programs; supporting the professionalism of individuals and organizations; participating in local, state and federal legislative processes; and, maintaining strong relationships with state regulatory staff. ? Promote sound, innovative, economical and environmentally safe solid waste management facilities and practices. ? Advocate government responsibility for assuring the availability of solid waste management services.

    The SWANA-Georgia Chapter is excited to be joining the Mississippi "Magnolia" Chapter along with the Alabama and Arkansas Chapters to participate in the Spring 2025 Regional SWANA Conference to be held April 29-May 1 at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi, MS. Registration is now open?on the Mississippi Chapter website for attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors for the 2025 Regional conference and may be done by either completing and submitting the PDF registration forms or by registering online with the ability to pay your registration fees through PayPal. Register here: https://lnkd.in/eX3iqB-e There will be plenary and breakout technical sessions with continuing education opportunities, a vendor trade show, a Truck & Equipment Display at Luau,?a Young Professionals event?and more for all to enjoy.?

  • The 2025 SWANA-Georgia Chapter Road-E-O?is back on May 21st and we need your help to make it a success! Please consider #volunteering with us at the ROAD-E-O on May 20th for course construction and/or May 21th for judging, registration, food organization, clean-up and other general activities.   • Please join the Georgia Composting Council (GCC) for it's first virtual Town Hall meeting on?Tuesday, March 4th from 1pm - 2pm. This will be their first formal gathering of members, and they would love for SWANA-Georgia Chapter members to attend especially since SWANA-Georgia Chapter helped get GCC rolling.
