Project Update: Scottsdale Museum Square Exciting progress is being made on the Scottsdale Museum Square project, a transformative mixed-use development in downtown Scottsdale! Residential Buildings: SWABACK’s master plan for Museum Square features four residential buildings, currently our focus is on Building 4, which includes 92 new apartment units. Designed by SWABACK, construction documents are completed, and Building 4 is expected to be the first to start construction. Hotel: A hotel component is set to be developed on the northwest corner of Marshall Way and Second Street, featuring a ground-floor restaurant, outdoor dining, wine bar, and interactive art gallery. Community Park: The development includes a multi-use public space to enhance community engagement. Designed by SWABACK, the project aims to revitalize the Scottsdale arts district with a desert classic contemporary aesthetic, complementing nearby arts venues like Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West. Jennifer Bonner will speak about her work at MALL, a creative design practice with focus on materiality, constructability, and conceptually driven ideas. MALL’s design work often begins with a representational idea around candy, sandwiches, hats, and other non-architectural elements. Illustrated through collections of models and dollhouses, exhibitions, and architectural drawings, the talk will also discuss the translation into construction details and materials. In 2018, her first built project, a single family home in Atlanta Georgia was constructed of 87 uniquely cut cross laminated timber panels in 14 days time.
