Join us for SVP Austin Connects on Thursday, October 24th, for an urgent and timely discussion on Austin's opioid crisis In the past five months, Austin has faced a devastating surge in opioid overdoses, with over 75 suspected cases and 9 tragic deaths attributed to fentanyl-laced substances. The crisis overwhelmed first responders and prompted local organizations to take immediate action, including the distribution of over 400 doses of Narcan by Austin-Travis County EMS. We're honored to welcome Em Gray, the founder of the N.I.C.E. Project (Narcan In Case of Emergency), to share their powerful advocacy for harm reduction and the life-saving role of Narcan in our community. Project (Narcan in Case of Emergency), founded by harm reduction advocate Em Gray, has distributed over 5,000 doses of Narcan via vending machines across the city, offering a life-saving tool to those in need.
