Congratulations to the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, DLS Builders, and all project partners on completing La Puente Enhanced One-Stop Center—AND achieving the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Silver Certification!?This development provides essential services from various Los Angeles County departments and is home to the first?supervisorial district?of?Los Angeles County, currently represented by Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis. ? ? SVA designed this building to be open and inviting, emphasizing partnership and cooperation between the public and government.?The 6,900-square-foot facility features upgraded resources, larger support spaces, integrated services, advanced technology, surface parking, and site enhancements to better serve customers.?A beautiful, mosaic tile mural by local artist Carly Lake is prominently featured on the building’s exterior.? ? Sustainable features include: - A rooftop photovoltaic system that meets the building's energy needs, including powering electric vehicle chargers - Sustainable landscaping, a greywater system, and rainwater management that reduce water consumption significantly - An efficient building envelope designed to minimize cooling needs - Light-colored pavement to reduce the heat island effect - Sustainably sourced materials - Ample windows to enhance natural light - An open, inviting design with an outdoor courtyard to prioritize occupant wellness ? SVA Architects is excited to announce that Lincoln Village in Oroville, CA received its final Certificate of Occupancy last week!?Developed by The Richman Group and built by Sunseri Construction, Lincoln Village is now leasing its 61 brand-new affordable apartment homes to individuals and families earning 30-60% AMI.?Homes come in 2- and 3-bedroom designs and range from approximately 900-1,200 square feet.?Apartment entrances in each of three buildings are located off a shared breezeway, with decorative molding to accentuate each entry.?Community amenities include a playground, a double-volume resident clubroom with demonstration kitchen, fitness center, laundry room, pet park, outdoor gathering spaces, and accessible parking for both residents and visitors. The results are in! SVA Architects, along with partners Design West Engineering, PCL Construction, and SOPREMA USA received TWO awards for our Grand CANyon design in this year’s Canstruction Orange County competition.?Our design earned “Most Cans” (we used 8,120 cans!) and “Honorable Mention” at this year’s CAN-DO Awards ceremony on September 24th.? Thanks again to all of our partners, donors, and supporters, and well-done to all of the participating teams!?Collectively, we raised 23,000 cans (25,000 pounds) of food for the OC Food Bank, totaling 100,000 meals!?WOW!!?? #EndHunger #OCFoodBank #GivingBack #MakeADifference #AEC #GrandCanyon #Canstruction?
