In Case You Missed It... Last night, Downtown Tiffin was buzzing with excitement as we celebrated the Taste of Downtown Tiffin! Attendees enjoyed a perfect evening filled with delicious bites from local favorites, lively community spirit, and beautiful weather. The event featured everything from brisket sliders to mini cheesecakes, with plenty of options to satisfy every palate. The evening culminated in the annual Band Bash sponsored by Forte Music, where incredible performances by the Tiffin Columbian Band, New Riegel Music, Heidelberg University, and Tiffin University Bands brought the night to a close on a high note. But the big news of the night came from Mayor Lee Wilkinson who announced an exciting new addition to our community—an “iceless” skating rink at Oakley Park, set to open on December 8, 2024. Named the Sutton Bank Charitable Fund of Tiffin Community Foundation Rink, this state-of-the-art rink will allow residents to skate using regular commercial ice skates, no matter the temperature, and without the need for chillers. Skaters can bring their own skates, or rental skates will be available at the rink. The grand opening will kick off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m., followed by open skating. The rink will operate on Fridays from 4-8 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. Entrance is just $5 per person, making it an affordable and fun activity for the whole family. This incredible project is the result of a dynamic public/private partnership between the City of Tiffin, the Tiffin Park & Recreation, and Operation Hallmark Inc. The project was spearheaded by Tiffin Parks Director Bryce K. and Christy Wiser, President of Operation Hallmark Inc., with major sponsorship from the Sutton Bank Charitable Fund and the White Family Charitable Fund, both funds of The Tiffin Community Foundation. Additional support came from Reineke Family Dealerships, Mary Jo & Bob SanGregory, and Clouse Construction Corp., all of whom played key roles in bringing this vision to life. We can't wait for September’s Third Thursday the Downtown Tiffin Pizza Party, organized by the Seneca County Young Professionals. With 15 vendors participating, this event promises to be the largest pizza party Downtown Tiffin has ever seen!

He joins us with nearly 30 years of retail and commercial banking experience, formerly serving as VP, Commercial Lender with First National Bank in Sandusky, and as Assistant VP, Business Banker with First Merit Bank in Ashland. Sutton bank is happy to announce updates to our Board of Directors! Congratulations to Lisa Young, CPA of Tiffin, who has been named as Chair of our Board. Lisa has served on the Board since 2015 and brings over 30 years of experience in banking, finance and accounting. Lisa has been the sole proprietor of an independent accounting firm in Tiffin since 1994. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. We are also pleased to announce the nominations of MJ (Mike) Anderson and Dr. Matthew C. Roberts to our Board. MJ is currently a Vice President for The Andersons, Inc. where he oversees multiple groups that trade agricultural commodities throughout the United States. He started with The Andersons in 2003 in grain operations, and since then, has held many roles in trade management and risk management. ? Dr. Matt Roberts is an independent economist and professional speaker who has delivered over 700 non-academic speeches and talks to agriculture, banking, and government groups. He founded the Kernmantle Group, an independent economic research and consulting group, specializing in agriculture and energy commodity markets and from 2022-2024 he served as Senior Grain & Oilseed Analyst at Terrain. Congratulations also to Todd Sutton, who has been nominated to serve as Chair of Sutton Bancshares, Inc., the holding company of Sutton Bank. Sutton has served on the Bank’s Board of Directors since 2018. He is the great-great-grandson of Lester Sutton, the founder of Sutton Bank. He is currently the President of Primient Covation, a $100 million joint venture in East Tennessee manufacturing biomaterials from renewable plant-based ingredients. We are happy to announce the addition of Stuart Smith who has joined the Bank's agriculture lending team in Attica. As an agriculture lender, Smith will focus on building relationships with Ag customers and supporting them in achieving their financial goals. He will be able to assist with machinery, equipment, real estate and livestock purchases to help customers establish a strong financial future for their farm-business operations. Besides growing up on his family's farm, Smith has worked in the agriculture industry for 14 years, with over five years of direct agriculture lending experience. Prior to his service as an agriculture lender, Smith spent several years working in production-row crop agriculture at Sunrise Cooperative as a Precision Technology Specialist & Seed Manager. He is also a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army. Smith obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Turfgrass Science from The Ohio State University. Join us in welcoming Stuart to the Sutton Bank team.
