Sutra provides you with everything you need to create an impactful group learning experience. It's one place to host your content, save zoom recordings, and continue the discussion between calls. You can create beautiful landing pages for your courses and process payments, all with one tool. Whether you have a small group or a thriving ecosystem, it's designed to be a safe space for meaningful conversation and connection. Sutra was founded after years of actively researching how communities function. Our effort explored ways to connect people within communities to share knowledge and resources, particularly around work. Through a journey of extended iteration and testing, we began to see how learning can be a pathway to practicing new ways of being together. Building tools to help people create conversational learning experiences that bring people together has become the focus of our work. Our mission is to create a global ecosystem of relational learning spaces that invite presence, meaningful connection, and shared understanding. We do this by providing educators with tools and resources to create powerful group experiences. We believe there has never been a greater need for presence and our aspiration is to build software that fosters mutual support and empathy through dialogue, co-creation, and learning.

One of the things that makes Sutra different from other learning platforms is our unique conversational course format. Most self paced courses offer an entirely isolated experience. There’s no opportunity to learn with and from each other. As a result, most self paced courses have attrition rates well above 95%. That means the vast majority of online courses never get finished. Our new feature set combines group process with AI to surface the insight and understanding that each participant brings to the course. In our experience, the value of a well designed group experience is the opportunity to discover something new through the sharing of other participants. This has never been possible with a self paced experience. Our conversational course format makes this possible. Over the last four years we’ve been quietly iterating on a feature called interactive journeys. This is one of the most unique and popular features on Sutra and we’ve decided to make this the focus of our ongoing work. One of the biggest challenges with self paced courses is that they have very low engagement and completion. Over 97% of online courses don’t get completed and there’s no social dimension - no way for participants to learn from each other. With our new focus, we’re combining everything we’ve learned over the last decade of group facilitation with an AI engine that lets anyone create rich, conversational experiences that generate higher engagement, completion, and peer to peer connection.
