Facing specific and unique building types is always a challenge for a LEED certification. One of the secrets of working with these type of buildings it's understanding the intent of the different #LEED credits, and identity and develop strategies that meets that intent. Sometimes it's better not follow the recipe, and use the team imaginationa and innovative thinking to implement #sustainability strategies.

??? Today, we want to share with you the first Cruise Terminal Project we collaborated with as #SustainabilityConsultants in the United States and reached #LEEDGold BD+C V4 Certification ??? ?? Let's go back to 2019 to tell you more about Port Miami Terminal B in Miami, FL. This project is a #CruiseTerminal, with an area around 180,000 ft2. In Sustyco LLC we will always remember this project, because it was an important milestone for us as consultants due to its use, design and size. The most important aspects of the project are: the #WaterEfficiency, reducing 44% the water sue compare with a baseline building, and on the energy side, the terminal is using 37% less #Energy than a baseline building. #UserExperience was also important in this building and for that, an #IndoorAirQuality testing were completed before the occupancy to identify potential contaminants inside the building that might affect the health of the occupants and visitors. This project obtained a LEED BD+C V4 Certification at #GoldLevel. Decarbonization is the biggest strategy that will bring #LEEDv5 on prerequisites and credits, as well as other green building certifications. Locating a building in a city like #Valencia will bring a lot of benefits for a building looking a for a green certification, and a green building will benefit a city that is actively going towards decarbonization. Let's go back to 2019 to tell you more about Collins Park in Miami Beach, FL. This project is a #GovernmentBuilding, with an area around 23,000 ft2. ???? One of the most important aspects is the connection to public transportation, is located on a high density area, providing acces to multiple services within a short walking distance. The project implemented HVAC and lighting systems that provide a 35% energy reduction compared to a typical building and achieved a 47% reduction in domestic water consumption. In addition, ?the building achieved #ParksmartCertification. This project obtained a LEED BD+C Core and Shell V4 Certification at #GoldLevel. We are very proud of this nomination since we had the opportunity to collaborate as #SustainabilityConsultants in the #FGBC certification process. ??? Our CEO MAURICIO TORO will be present at the #FGBC Awards Luncheon being held at the Aloft Delray in Delray Beach, FL on Tuesday, March 26th, where Finalists will be recognized and the #GrandWinners from each category announced. ?? #ArloWynwood is a Residential/Hotel type Project, is composed of one 9-story boutique hotel consisting of 187 hotel rooms, lobby/lounge, music venue, commercial kitchen, meeting rooms, service amenity areas, and recreational amenities, including but not limited to a fitness center, yoga area, pool, and parking garage containing 84 parking spaces yielding 107 total parking space capacity by using 23 car lifts. ?? Arlo is a hotel brand that focuses on the youthfully minded traveler. Through its programing and activations it is a hotel that allows outsiders to be insiders with it many food and beverage outlets along with its various public spaces. The hotel also follows #GoodPractices in #Sustainability, #EnergyEfficiency and #CommunityIntegration during construction and post opening. ??? The project site is located in Wynwood, known for its many colorful murals, and one of the city’s most happening districts. The design process started in 2019 and the FGBC certification was achieved in April 2023. ?? ?Congratulations! to the entire #Team that made the Arlo Wynwood project possible.
