Montenegro’s media are paying close attention to ESG, and for good reason. As sustainability moves from aspiration to necessity, conversations around responsible business are gaining momentum. Our recent discussion at Televizija E highlighted the growing regional interest in ESG strategy, investment, and impact. At ESG Adria Summit, we’ll explore these themes in depth—bringing together business leaders, policymakers, and experts to drive meaningful change. From net-zero commitments to regulatory shifts, the agenda is built around action, not just discussion. The media’s engagement in these topics is a positive sign. It reflects a broader shift in priorities—one where sustainability and business success go hand in hand. What ESG issues do you think deserve more attention in this region?

Banks can be more than just financial institutions – they can be a generator of powerful changes in the community. In fact, Crnogorska Komercijalna Banka (CKB bank) is one such example, and that’s why we’re thrilled to announce that they will be joining the ESG Adria Summit 2025 as a Bronze Partner! CKB is deeply rooted in the Montenegrin community and dedicated to its growth. Whether it's green financing for households through the GEFF credit line for energy efficiency technologies or investments in ecological reconstructions and renewable energy sources, CKB is there for the community. But that's not the end. The company has supported 41 socially responsible projects in the fields of education, sports, culture, and healthcare in the last year. Their goal is simple: to build a better, more sustainable and resilient future for everyone. Their efforts have resulted in the "Corporate Social Responsibility award - CARE FOR THE COMMUNITY" by the Montenegrin Employers Federation. Moreover, CKB is a pioneer in digital banking and innovative approach to financial services. The bank is constantly expanding its online services and promoting financial literacy to empower its clients. Do you want to learn how the financial sector drives resilience and innovation in the region? Be part of this vital conversation. ?? April 9–11, 2025 ?? Tivat, Porto Montenegro ?? From gender stereotyping to lack of access to #finance, women #entrepreneurs can face obstacles because of their #gender, especially in the developing world. Cherie Blair CBE KC launched the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women to address these gaps and support women #business owners. 134 years. A truly staggering estimations from the 2024 Global Gender Gap Report. That's how long it will take to close the gender gap at this pace. As we mark this 8th of March, we cannot ignore the disconnection between this timeline and the urgency of our mission. Have we, as organisations and leaders in the Adria region, opened up to unleashing the full potential of female leadership? It's not just about placing women in boardrooms - it's about the ripple effect, the lasting change we create together. The boardroom isn't the finish line, it's the launchpad. ?? At Women on Boards Adria, we often discuss the critical need for gender equality in leadership. We analyze the data, we push forward and initiate policy changes, and when we reach a little bit further each time, we celebrate this success. But behind every milestone, we see the individual journeys, the stories of resilience, and the unbroken commitment to progress. We witness the strength of women leaders like those who shared their experiences in many events we had over the last year, or through WOBA Board Readiness Programme. Their stories remind us that progress isn't solely about systemic change - it's about the human connections, the shared challenges, and the collective support that empowers us all. We are navigating complex global shifts: the rise of AI, economic uncertainties, and the evolving landscape of leadership. These aren't abstract concepts. They directly impact our communities, our businesses, and the lives of women across the Adria region. We believe that diverse perspectives, especially those of women, are essential in steering us through these changes. We were reminded many times that true support isn't just about advocacy, it's about creating spaces where every voice is valued and heard. It's about building a culture of collaboration and mutual respect. ??We invite you to reflect with us: What seeds are we planting today that will shape the future of leadership? What conversations we should start that will empower the next generation of women leaders in the Adria region? What does that future look like to you? #empowerement #femaleleaders #womeniboardrioms #womenonboards #adria #genderequality #leadership
