Sustain SC is excited to celebrate the completion of the Offshore Wind Supply Chain Study – a crucial step in advancing South Carolina’s renewable energy future! We thank Rep. Jason Elliott for his leadership in getting this study accomplished and paving the way for new renewable energy opportunities in our state. This impactful study emulates Sustain SC's mission of fostering sustainable job growth, promoting business development, and supporting clean energy solutions. We are proud to spotlight the Town of Mount Pleasant as a member of Sustain SC! Located just across the harbor from Charleston, Mt. Pleasant is leading the charge with innovative programs like the Take Root Tree program, Oyster Reef Rebuilds, and Composting Program. It has implemented forward-thinking policies, such as Low Impact Development, Tree Protection, Hazard Mitigation Plan and Hazard Vulnerability Analysis, and Impervious Surface Limits. These policies ensure long-term environmental preservation and resilience. The town’s leadership in sustainability shines through its active participation in committees like the Flood Resilience Committee, Green Commission, Cultural Arts and Pride Committee, Environmental and Engineering Division of EDS, and Historical Commission. SVP Cynthia Davis joined the Westervelt clay shooting team at their scholarship fundraising event at the Hermitage Sporting Grounds last week! This year, the South Carolina Mitigation Association (SCMA) partnered with the South Carolina Chapter of the National Association for Environmental Professionals.
