We are proud to spotlight the Town of Mount Pleasant as a member of Sustain SC! Located just across the harbor from Charleston, Mt. Pleasant is leading the charge with innovative programs like the Take Root Tree program, Oyster Reef Rebuilds, and Composting Program. It has implemented forward-thinking policies, such as Low Impact Development, Tree Protection, Hazard Mitigation Plan and Hazard Vulnerability Analysis, and Impervious Surface Limits. These policies ensure long-term environmental preservation and resilience. The town’s leadership in sustainability shines through its active participation in committees like the Flood Resilience Committee, Green Commission, Cultural Arts and Pride Committee, Environmental and Engineering Division of EDS, and Historical Commission.
