Supporting communities worldwide threatened by climate change by building environmental/economic/social resiliency.
关于我们
ISC is an international, non-profit organization that works to support communities by creating, implementing, and scaling equitable climate change solutions for communities at the frontline of the global climate crisis. Our unique, bottom-up approach ensures solutions emerge from within communities, rather than being imposed from the outside. By sharing international best practices and experiences, providing technical expertise and training, and building the capacity of local organizations, we support innovative solutions and sustainable change. We address the root causes of climate change impacts by building community knowledge and skills, strengthening governance, and diversifying the field of sustainability professionals. Our approach incorporates capacity building, technical assistance delivery, knowledge products, climate change action planning, and peer learning.

And for areas of the US that don’t typically experience heavy snow and extreme cold, it can cause severe consequences. Learn more about how climate change is affecting winter weather. #PeopleandPlanet #ClimateChange #ExtremeCold #Snowstorm

Certain communities may face challenges accessing disaster aid, have decreased ability to financially recover, or even be unable to evacuate. We are so excited to be partnering for the second time with Patronicity ?? for our Partnership for Resilient Communities (PRC) project! Stay tuned for more information on our partners and the amazing projects they are working on!
We are excited to announce our second program in partnership with the Institute for Sustainable Communities. The Partnership for Resilient Communities (PRC) crowdgranting program will provide twelve community-based organizations to raise additional funds for targeted projects that work to transform local approaches to climate change resilience and receive matching dollars up to $15,000. The Institute for Sustainable Communities is a nonprofit that brings partners, expertise, and funding to the communities that are most vulnerable to climate change in the U.S. and abroad. They address real challenges people face, including every human’s right to live on a clean earth and work in a safe environment. They do this by co-creating solutions with locally-led organizations and connecting them to the resources they need to achieve sustainable change in the communities most vulnerable to climate change long after our involvement has concluded. The PRC works to transform the national urban climate resilience field by increasing the number of leaders of color in the urban field of practice, advancing approaches that build the resilience of people and places through influence-building and policy approaches, community education, and engagement, and the installation of clean energy and green infrastructure. The PRC program is made possible by funding from the Freedom Together Foundation.?
