IT Services and Cloud Software: Capgemini and Salesforce Net Zero Cloud (NZC) have partnered to assist luxury watch maker BREITLING with its carbon data management and #netzero efforts. 2. IT Services and Renewable Energy: At NTT DATA Business Solutions, almost half (49%) of all #datacenter energy consumption involves #RenewableEnergy, the global IT service provider said in its second Sustainability Report. 3. Amazon Employee Survey: Most Amazon corporate workers are worried that senior leadership is misleading the public about Amazon's climate impact, according to an independent survey spanning 800 Amazon workers. 4. Partnership - Higher Education: The The University of New Mexico (UNM) and LOBO ENERGY, INCORPORATED (LEI) are working with Energy Systems Group (ESG) to enhance the #sustainability and operational efficiency on the UNM South Campus, the organizations said. 5. Tesla Supercharger Interoperability Limits: Only?about 100?of #Tesla's 2,500 or so U.S. Supercharger stations feature the Magic Dock to support third-party #EVcharging, according to a?Bloomberg Green?analysis. 6. Renewable Energy - Restructuring: Maxeon Solar Technologies plans to focus exclusively on the U.S. market. The company is selling its EMEA, APAC?and LATAM?operations to parent #TCLGroup. The newly formed business will be known as TCL SunPower International. The company breakup surfaces roughly one month after Maxeon named?a new CEO for 2025, and week revenues in September 2024. The?#solarenergy company had job cuts?in 2023. 7. Solar Energy - #Layoffs: SolarZero has ceased operations, laid off 160 employees, and is facing liquidation, #NewsRoomPro reported. SolarZero, backed by BlackRock, is based in New Zealand. 8. Re Sustainability Limited has acquired #G3 Environmental Private Limited, an industrial and commercial waste management company in Singapore. #PrivateEquity firm KKR owns 60% of Re Sustainability as of November 2024. 9. M&A - Battery Energy Storage Systems: #METGroup has acquired COMAX France, a developer of battery energy storage systems (#BESS). This is MET Group’s first investment in French energy infrastructure. Interim #ChiefSustainabilityOfficer - Financial Services: HSBC has named Julian Wentzel, currently Head of Global Banking, MENAT, as interim group chief sustainability officer. Wentzel will step in for Group CSO Celine Herweijer, who plans to exit HSBC on #December 31, 2024. Herweijer resigned after the firm dropped the group #CSO role from HSBC's executive committee. 2. Boardroom - Recycling Solutions: FreightWise, LLC.?CEO Chris Cochran is now an S3 Recycling Solutions board member. 3. Compliance Services: SGS has unveiled three services to support Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (#CSRD) compliance and advance Environmental, Social, and Governance (#ESG) reporting and disclosures. SGS, based in Geneva, offers testing, inspection and certification services worldwide. 4. Layoffs - Data Center Services: Equinix #layoffs will impact roughly 400 employees -- which represents about 3% of its global workforce, Light Reading reported. 5. Data Centers - Green Financing: Equinix has issued an additional €1.15 billion in green bonds (US$1.21 billion) to "further its #sustainability initiatives and enhance the operational efficiency of its global business," the #datacenter company said. Equinix has issue?$6.9 billion in green bonds to date. 6. M&A - #RenewableEnergy: #ClearwayEnergy will acquired the Tuolumne wind project, a 137 MW operation in Washington state, from Turlock Irrigation District, SeekingAlpha.com reported. #WindPower #WindEnergy #MergersAndAcquisitions 7. M&A - Potential IT Services Deal: French IT firm Atos, which is struggling financially, may sell its advanced computing activities to the French government for an enterprise value of 500 million euros ($524 million), Reuters reported. The overall Atos service catalog includes sustainable IT services capabilities. 8. M&A - Potential Wind Energy Sale: #PrivateEquity firm TPG?is in advanced talks to buy the Indian wind energy assets of?Siemens Energy AG’s Gamesa unit, Bloomberg reported. The deal may be worth about $300 million, the report said. Siemens, which laid off about 5,000 employees in November 2024, also plans to spin off its #EVcharging business. Job cuts in November 2024 so far include these companies and #EnergyTransition sectors. 1. #ElectricVehicles - Ola Electric layoffs?will impact about 500 employees at the electric two-wheeler manufacturer in India. 2. #RenewableEnergy: Equinor layoffs?will impact 20% of the company's renewable energy employees, Reuters reported. Equinor, based in Norway, is best known for its oil and gas operations. 3. #EVs: Ford Motor Company layoffs?will impact almost 4,000 employees in Europe over the next three years, about 14% of its workforce in the region, as the carmaker faces slowing demand for electric vehicles and rising competition from China, CNN reported. 4. Two fuel cell companies have announced job cuts. First up,?FuelCell Energy layoffs?will impact roughly 75 employees or 13% of staff, MarketWatch reported. This is the company's second round of layoffs in 2024, the report said. Next up,?HyAxiom, Inc. will cut 67 employees in Connecticut, Hartford Business Journal reported. 5. #Automation Market: Siemens layoffs?may impact roughly 5,000 employees amid an automation business slowdown, CEO Roland Busch said, according to Reuters. Rivals such as IBM already offer quantum-oriented cloud services to selected customers. 4. Lawsuit - Potential Settlement: Tesla appears poised to settle a #lawsuit against rival EV maker Rivian Automotive, #SeekingAlpha and Bloomberg reported. The suit alleged Rivian poached Tesla employees to steal trade secrets. 6. Lawsuit vs. OpenAI: A federal court rejected OpenAI’s effort to toss a lawsuit filed by The Intercept over using its journalists’ work to train #ChatGPT without permission or credit, the Intercept reported. 7. Incubator: Boston University announced?the 2024 Sustainability Innovation Seed Grant honorees. M&A - Real Estate: Galvanize Climate Solutions Real Estate has acquired a 608,000 square foot industrial asset located along the I-95 corridor in Central New Jersey. The building -- which will be transformed to leverage #greenenergy -- is ideally positioned for #supplychain and distribution customers, Galvanize said. The startups are?Blip Energy?of Chicago, Illinois;?Evercloak Inc.?of Ontario, Canada; and?Transaera, Inc.?of Somerville, Massachusetts. The incubator is funded by Wells Fargo and co-administered by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s?National Renewable Energy Laboratory. 2. Investment - IT Services: Kintarra of Santa Clarita, California, has invested in ITSco - Integrated Technical Services of Durham, North Carolina,?as part of a joint effort to expand #ITservices, IT asset disposition (#ITAD) and sustainability capabilities. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. 3. Asset Sale:?Honeywell is selling its Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) business to Protective Industrial Products (PIP)?for?$1.325 billion. Private equity firm Odyssey Investment Partners owns PIP. Honeywell's overall business focus remains automation; the future of aviation; and the #energytransition. The strategy involves a march toward $1 billion in sustainable technology revenues. 4. M&A - Renewable Energy: Altus Power, Inc. has acquired a 3.4 MW solar project from Chaberton Energy, a?Maryland-based national #RenewableEnergy project developer. Canada - CEO Priorities: Roughly 75% of Canadian CEOs expect it will take at least three years to see substantial returns on their ESG investments, a KPMG survey found.
