We're still buzzing from the incredible energy at Sustain The Sound! It was our biggest event yet, and a testament to the power of community, music, and sustainable practices. ?? ?? Selling out the venue and witnessing the overwhelming support for our local music scene was truly inspiring. ?? This event would not have been possible without the major incredible event coordination from Mireya Zellner, Haley Balderson, Elizer Meraz Jr., and Angelina Botticelli, as well as the incredible graphics by Rebecca Calvar, and marketing spearheaded by Isabella Reale, Madeline Mason, and Eva Cain. The band competition was fierce, showcasing the immense talent within our community. It's an honor to provide a platform for these artists. ?? On February 21st, we hosted The Friendship Affair as part of The Cambridge Foundry’s February Festival, bringing together a community of like-minded individuals to celebrate sustainability, creativity, and friendship. From an interactive game that sparked conversations to an incredible lineup of vendors—featuring everything from vintage clothing and handmade treasures to tarot readings and plants—this event was all about meaningful exchanges. Huge thank you to The Foundry for having us, and a special shoutout to Ayana Nangle and Jamie Breault for their seamless organization of such an amazing event! And of course, to everyone who came out, participated, and made the night one to remember. Whether you walked away with a new favorite piece, a fresh perspective, or just some great memories, we’re so grateful to have shared this space with you.?<333

Since the start of the year, we’ve created two projects for Boston-based restaurants, both of which became their most successful social media content to date, we also got the chance to do press for Runway 7 Fashion at New York Fashion Week. Totally late on this announcement but we are proud to announce the event we have been working tirelessly on this past month is coming to fruition next weekend! Sustainable Swaps presents.... SUSTAIN THE SOUND! This event was created with the hard work of Mireya Zellner, Haley Balderson, Angelina Botticelli and many more of our amazing team! We have never done a music focused event and wanted to test the waters with this battle ;) This event is a Battle of the Bands event- With 100% audience voting! We were able to secure some amazing prizes/sponsors for this competition, so we would like to give a major shout out to all of those sponsors who graciously donated to this wonderful endeavor. We are excited to announce these prizes below: - A 6 hour studio session with The Record Co. Thrifted Under 50$- First photoshoot in the books ???
??? ???????????????? ?????????? $50 – ?? ?????????????????????? ?????????????? ?????????????? Excited to share????????????????? ?????????? $50, a project I creative directed for?Sustainable Swaps! Last October, I applied for a creative director role with Sustainable Swaps, a company dedicated to lowering the impact of individual consumption through events, education, and community. From this, I developed????????????????? ?????????? $50 - a photoshoot that challenges the idea that sustainable fashion has to be expensive. This shoot showcases affordable, high-quality secondhand clothing, proving that sustainability can be both stylish and budget-friendly. Featuring diverse, polished, and vibrant looks, this project encourages people to see thrifting as a creative way to elevate their wardrobe while making mindful fashion choices. Through this experience, I deepened my passion for creative direction - leading an incredible team, overseeing every detail, and designing the shoot’s layout using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. As I enter my final semester at Emerson College, I’m excited to continue this work beyond graduation. ??A huge thank you to everyone involved! Last week, I had the amazing opportunity to represent Sustainable Swaps at CTRL + ALT + MEET at Framingham State University! This event, hosted by Plural Zine x Dreamworldgirl Zine, was an incredible space for networking, creativity, and collaboration. I connected with so many talented artists, organizations, and creatives from across Massachusetts. We also hosted a clothing swap, which was a great success! Seeing people come together to give new life to pre-loved pieces was such a rewarding experience. From inspiring conversations to engaging performances sponsored by Soul Recipe Records, the energy of the indie DIY scene was truly something special. Events like these highlight the importance of building community and sharing ideas, and I’m grateful to have been part of it. Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by Sustainable Swaps and to the organizers for putting together such a fantastic event!

This year has been nothing short of incredible! Sustainable Swaps has grown and evolved in ways we couldn’t have imagined, bringing our passion for sustainability and community to life. As we start for an exciting 2025, we want to take a moment to celebrate everything we’ve accomplished together. We kicked off the year by adding 13 new team members, and forming dedicated Event Coordination, Marketing, and Media outreach teams. Their hard work and creativity helped us host 12 amazing events that were more than just clothing swaps—they were celebrations of community and sustainability. From live bands and DJs to on-site clothing alterations, fashion shows, and workshops, our events offered something for everyone. Highlights included collaborations with incredible organizations like Dreamworldgirl Zine, Uvida Shop, HausofFag, and many others. Each event was a step toward creating a stronger community. This year also marked a major milestone: We hosted our first New York/New Jersey event, expanding our reach beyond Boston and sharing our mission with even more people. We also focused on amplifying our message online, growing our community by over 2,000 followers, executing two professional photoshoots, and consistently creating content to inspire action and awareness around sustainability. None of this would have been possible without the incredible individuals who make up our team, the organizations we partnered with, and the community members who showed up and supported us. Thank you for being part of this journey! As we look ahead to 2025, we’re ready to dream bigger, collaborate further, and continue making an impact in the sustainability and fashion world.
