What would our world look like if we focused our attention on the blue? ?? The vast majority of our planet is ocean (71% to be exact). So we reimagined our world view with the ocean at its center. How might our world view be different if THIS is the way we looked at our world? Would we be more ocean and planet conscious? More rooted in our connection to the natural world? Perspective is everything. Let's work together to shift our mindset to protect this #blueplanet we call home. ?? (inspired by the Spilhaus Projection)
The deep sea doesn’t belong to corporations or governments, it belongs to all of us. ?? Species, ecosystems, and humans alike. Within the great Pacific lies the Clarion Clipperton Zone—an area the size of India that is the hotspot target for #DeepSeaMining. But, more importantly, it is a hotspot for unique and sensitive biodiversity critical to ocean health. Here’s the good news: You can help protect it. As Deep Rising Movie and Impact releases its award-winning documentary on the dangers of deep-sea mining to streaming platforms today, they have also launched a new campaign to steward deep-sea protection… ?? 8.17 billion unique GPS coordinates within the Clarion Clipperton Zone (one for every person on Earth) so you can symbolically reclaim your own portion of the deep sea—not for profit, but for preservation. By claiming your piece of the deep sea, you’ll receive a personalized DEEPSEA NFT—a digital ‘Birthright Certificate’—stamped with your unique GPS coordinates and featuring one of 14 unsung heroes of the deep. By joining us, you’ll send a clear message to the International Seabed Authority and pro-mining nations and companies that the deep seabed must be protected—NOT exploited. ?? Together, we can stop the destruction of our shared ocean heritage. Head to www.deeprising.com now to watch the film and claim your DEEPSEA NFT! ????
“Ask yourself, how can you use your own talent, your passion, your time, to do something?” This question I posed during #ClimateWeekNYC has never been more relevant than now. As I expressed to attendees, we have the unique opportunity to disrupt every industry—right now. While the past 100 years have been marked by ecological extraction, destruction, and consumption, I believe the next 100 years can be marked by innovation, collaboration, and reimagination—of industries, mindsets, and global economies. We’ve realized that as consumers, inventors, and investors, we can drive planet-positive progress, support the innovation of harmful industries, and help scale the solutions that matter. The world is tangibly moving towards regeneration. Sustainable Ocean Alliance has united a global community of changemakers dedicated to making a difference and we know there are countless more untapped voices—people like you—who want in on this growing movement. This is especially evident here on LinkedIn, where I see tangible change, everywhere. I see you, the early career professional—helping to implement sustainable practices from within your place of work. I see you, the startup founder—pursuing your wildest dreams, stepping off the ‘safe’ path, and disrupting the status quo through sustainable innovation. I see you, the volunteer—picking up trash on beaches, restoring critical habitats, and educating your community on the importance of the ocean. I see you, the storyteller—leveraging your platform and voice to educate, inform, and inspire. I see you, the seasoned professional—announcing you’ve joined a board, begun advising a nonprofit, or are mentoring a young person with a desire to make a difference. I see you. Each of us is rising to the challenge and taking this shared responsibility to safeguard our future to heart. So in the spirit of lifting up others, what is something you have done recently to make a positive impact on the ocean and planet—no matter how small?

Good news from the deep! ?? The Nordic Council, which includes Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and ?land, has voted IN FAVOR of a resolution calling for a moratorium on #DeepSeaMining. ?? Among these member nations, Denmark, Finland, and Sweden have already declared their own formal opposition to this destructive practice, calling for a 'precautionary pause' until more comprehensive and concrete scientific research can be done to determine the true impacts of the industry. This historic milestone sends a clear message to members Iceland and Norway, who have thus far been outspokenly in favor of deep-sea mining exploration, that this will not be tolerated under the Council. We're calling this another win for the fight to #DefendTheDeep. ? Interested in doing your part to protect the deep sea?
