?? Excited to share that I recently attended the kick-off meeting for the UPWEARS project in Nantes, France! I also had the opportunity to present Scion’s role in the project, particularly in WP7. It was great to meet all the partners and incoming PhD students and Postdocs working in the project. A big thank you to INRAE BIA Sofiane GUESSASMA and Margaux Le Moine for hosting this event. Recently BASF and Siemens revealed their most recent development, a circuit breaker that includes biomass-balanced plastics within its components. Through making this circuit breaker, the companies have been able to replace fossil resources with biomethane that they sourced from agricultural waste. To make this application successful, the companies used bio-based grades of BASF’s Ultramid nylon and Ultradur PBT.
