With a slight delay, I want to share on our company page that Sustainable Chemicals LLC has been awarded the 2024 Colorado Cleantech Award for Breakthrough Technology! It was a wonderful event, and I’m deeply grateful to have shared it with Meghan Bader from Breakthrough Energy and Yaman Peksenar. I’m honored to be part of Cohort 4 alongside 24 other brilliant innovators to push the boundaries of what’s possible to decarbonize hard-to-abate industries.? Sustainable Chemicals' mission is to reduce the impact of the plastic industry on GHG emissions and global pollution from macro- and microplastics. NEWS: New Meta-Study Highlights That Hydrolysis Prevents the Formation of Persistent PLA Microplastics in the Environment Today Holland Bioplastics released an important meta-study that summarizes currently available peer-reviewed research on how polylactic acid (PLA) interacts with the environment. This study, conducted by HYDRA Marine Sciences, found that in the presence of water or humidity, PLA will fully hydrolyze, and no persistent nano- or microplastics will remain or accumulate in the environment. ?? #IngeoPLA #PLA #microplastics
