Fortune Global Summit NYC 2024 provided something for everyone who were there. The 2-day summit was curated by an incredibly talented Fortune team. The team warmly and professionally engaged with speakers and audience at individual, professional, organizational, local, regional, country and global levels. The world is at a crossroads especially with the AI revolution movement underway which will change how we live, learn and work forever. Even with the election behind us, we are uncertain about what the future will holds for us but what we are 100% sure is that changes will continue to challenge us at every level. How we continue to work together through these BIG changes will make a difference. Thank you Forbes team, speakers and participants for making the 2-day experience so memorable. At personal level, I am very grateful and excited about the support and energy I received from many at the summit about the #SW2 work to activate CSOs with an aim to define next level 21st sustainability in context of what we love, what we are good at, what the world needs and how we can make the biggest impact. Day 2 at #SustainabilityUSA kicks off with an empowering 'Women in Sustainability' breakfast workshop led by Ann Lee-Jeffs, Founder and CEO of Sustainability Women in the World (SW2), and her inspiring board members and advisors, Shannon Schuyler from PwC, Julia Klim from Equinox, Danielle Corcione from Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC,Tricia Carey from Accelerating Circularity, and Catherine Roggero-Lovisi from Modern Meadow. Time for my #ClimateWeekNYC roundup. I am mentioning a few headlines here and invite you to reach out if you want to explore further! I had the privilege to speak at a number of events this year including #SolutionsHouse, #SustainabilityLIVE, #Techonomy and a few others. My 2 key messages - in this complex world with many issues to solve, please FOCUS on what you and your organization can do best and find the best PARTNERS to make it happen! This year, more than in the past, I most appreciated the several Roundtable (chatham house rules) discussions, where we were able to dive into rich discussions with cross-industry experts. Key themes included: ?? Mandated reporting (e.g. CSRD) and the data requirements to get ready including #XBRL. ?? Finance transition, we need to innovate, focus and partner to fund our Net Zero roadmaps. It was also great to hear Gary White at Water.org talk about the creative ways they are mobilizing funding to multiply the reach and bring much needed clean water to those most in need. ?? Women Leadership, the unique and diverse competencies we bring to the table and our ability to influence in order to get this work done (a big thanks to Ann Lee-Jeffs, Danielle Corcione, Julia Klim and Janett Haas for organizing & hosting a beautiful dinner at the Equinox hotel to officially launch #SW2 bringing together 30+ amazing women sustainability leaders including Kristen Siemen who shared a panel with me to discuss our past and our future together.) A special shout out to the entire amazing UN Global Compact Network USA team(!) for a soldout and successful #SDGSummit.
