?? Survivor Care is Healthcare! On March 19-20, the UC Regents will meet at UCLA. Leila Chiddick & Kalani P. have been selected as Student Advocates to the Regents (StARs), representing Survivors + Allies to push for critical survivor support policies. They will call on the Regents to: 1. Implement SB 1491: Ensure every UC campus designates an LGBTQIA-focused staff member as a confidential resource for LGBTQIA+ students. 2. Expand Confidential Support Services for Survivors: Guarantee survivors will receive two free therapy sessions with a university counselor, regardless of insurance status. HOW YOU CAN HELP US:? - Share our post - Email your networks (email template: https://lnkd.in/gpjY67Js) - Share public comment to the UC Regents 48 hours before they meet on Wednesday, March 19th @8:30am - Share phone comments to the UC Regents: Call the Office of the Secretary and Chief of Staff at: (510) 987-9220 Support Survivors + Allies by amplifying our message! We stand in solidarity with trans and gender-diverse survivors in the wake of Trump’s executive order narrowly defining gender as binary and tied to birth sex. This harmful directive risks undermining access to care, justice, autonomy, and safety for trans and nonbinary individuals, particularly in the context of Title IX. Efforts to restrict gender diversity can create confusion in the reporting process and threaten protections under Title IX, which courts have interpreted to include gender identity. Survivors of all genders deserve equal treatment, dignity, and access to inclusive resources, and we oppose any policies that harm or exclude trans and gender-diverse individuals. Please see below for our full statement and a list of resources.
