On November 4, 2024, we gathered to celebrate the incredible achievements of our CEO, Julie S. Stokes, CPA, who was honored with New Orleans CityBusiness’ Women of the Year Award and inducted into their Hall of Fame! This prestigious recognition celebrates women making an impact in business for the betterment of their communities. Julie’s dedication is evident through her leadership of her two nonprofits, Ellevate Louisiana and SCAN, her consulting firm, Flame Consulting LLC Consulting, and as CFO of her and her husband's company, Stokes & Associates, Inc. We couldn’t imagine anyone more deserving of this recognition, and we’re thrilled to see her hard work celebrated. Congratulations, Julie—we had a fantastic time honoring you and can’t wait to see what’s next!

Exciting news from the Prevent Cancer Foundation: starting September 2024, all mammography facilities will be required to include a breast density assessment in medical reports. Understanding whether your breasts are "dense" or "not dense" is vital, as dense tissue can conceal cancers on mammograms. We are proud to share that Julie personally championed legislation to ensure that follow-up testing is covered just like the original screening—no copays or deductibles! Let’s advocate for accessible healthcare and empower everyone to understand their breast density and screening options. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month—now is the perfect time to check if you're up to date on your mammograms! ?? #WomensHealth #BreastCancerAwareness #LouisianaLegislature #SCAN

And only 5-10% of cases are hereditary, meaning most individuals who get breast cancer don't have a family history of it.
