?? SURVICE is excited to reaffirm our commitment to and strategic alliance with Malloy Aeronautics Ltd. (now a wholly owned subsidiary of BAE Systems) to bring their electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) technology to the United States Department of Defense (DoD). The SURVICE-Malloy team’s Tactical Resupply Vehicle (TRV), built upon the Malloy Aeronautics T-series unmanned aerial vehicle (UAS), is currently in production under the NAVAIR Tactical Resupply UAS (TRUAS) program.?BAE provides the depth, infrastructure, and manufacturing expertise to more quickly ramp up production to meet the growing demand within the DoD. ?? It never gets old! Seeing our U.S. Marines operating the TRV-150 around the world is a reward in and of itself! "U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Victor Bawi, a training chief with the Combat Logistics Battalion 24, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Special Operations Capable (SOC), prepares to fly a tactical resupply vehicle 150 unmanned aircraft system for a simulated resupply in Larnaca, Cyprus during scheduled bilateral training with the Republic of Cyprus National Guard, Oct. 25, 2024. The training, set to take place from September to early November, was coordinated with the Government of the Republic of Cyprus and is designed to strengthen the operational capabilities of both forces and reaffirm the strong security cooperation and commitment to regional stability between the U.S. and Cyprus. The 24th MEU (SOC) and Wasp Amphibious Ready Group are on a scheduled deployment to U.S. Naval Forced Europe and Africa area of operations to support U.S., Allied, and partner interests in the region, including in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. We're excited to announce the release of “Radio Frequency Directed Energy (RF DE) Systems and Their Effects," written by SURVICE employee John Tatum, an expert in electronic warfare and high-power RF/microwave DE weapon systems. John's extensive background--nearly 37 years at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) and 13 years as a subject matter expert at SURVICE Engineering Company--has made him one of the leading voices in the field. This book offers deep insights into DE systems, particularly RF DE systems, and explores their advantages and challenges compared to traditional kinetic energy systems. John covers topics like the unintentional RF ports of entry (back doors) in electronic targets, how the RF energy can travel from the outside of a system to the interior electrons, and how to compute/estimate the Probability of Effect (Pe) of the RF energy on systems that operate on land, sea, air, and space. He brings his unmatched experience to provide real-world examples and shows how to estimate the hardening level to protect a notional helicopter against notional RF DE weapons.
