Our City of Surprise Economic Development Team wrapped up Spring Training with a trio of fantastic games with some truly incredible guests! On Friday, March 14, our Economic Development Project Manager, Kirsten Hall, MBA, CEcD, welcomed a great group from Amazon AZML DTU7, right here in Surprise! Thank you to everyone who braved the rain and joined Kirsten to watch the Texas Rangers Baseball Club take on the Colorado Rockies! Some of the team members that joined us included Station Manager Nathaniel Olivas, AJ Ries, Drew Money, and Richard MacEnery. On Thursday of this week, joining us at Surprise Stadium were members of the SACC AZ Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce Arizona. Huge thank you to Councilmember Patrick Duffy who joined Economic Development Director Jeanine Jerkovic, CEcD, and Assistant Director Mike Hoover to welcome this wonderful team! Some of our fantastic guests included, Honorary Consul of Sweden Mikael Orn OLY and SACC AZ President Joacim Mattisson as well as Jesse Avalos, Patrik Hertzman, Rita Marko, Hank Marshall, Heather L. Mattisson, PMP, Eric Walberg, and many more! And of course we missed our friend Anders Berg, but know we'll get together soon! For our final Spring Training game of the season, our team welcomed SimonCRE to watch the Kansas City Royals take on the Seattle Mariners. Thank you to Kevin Sartor, City of Surprise Mayor, Vice Mayor Jack Hastings, Councilmember Earle G., and Councilmember Patrick Duffy for joining Jeanine and Mike in celebrating these great partners! Last week, our Surprise Economic Development Team played host at Surprise Stadium for a pair of Spring Training games with some fantastic partners! On Thursday, March 6, Councilmember Earle G. joined us to welcome bp, Castrol, & Kenco Group Logistic Service, who moved into their new, 168,000 square foot building in the Surprise Industrial District last year. Excited to have another opportunity to welcome this fantastic group to our community! Friday, March 7 may have brought the rain, but it also brought our fantastic partners at Land Reserve as well as some wonderful guests! Thank you to Kevin Sartor, City of Surprise Mayor and Councilmember Earle G. for joining Economic Development Director Jeanine Jerkovic, CEcD and Assistant Director Mike Hoover in celebrating this great group.
