Did you know that the day after the 4th of July is the dirtiest beach day of the year?? As beachgoers head to the coasts in record numbers, our beloved ocean and beaches are battered with plastic pollution and litter, making July 5th the “dirtiest beach day of the year.” Surfrider chapters nationwide are stepping up their cleanup efforts on July 5th to remove all the trash left after the celebrations. ?? Last year, over 1,300 Surfrider volunteers attended 30 cleanups and removed and sorted over 100,000 pounds of trash!
