Playing in surf shops, bars, restaurants, parties, at the beach... HISTORY - Surf Roots began in 2005. It started when Body Glove approached Resin Music (West Coast's premier Reggae label since '99) to produce a benefit CD for the USA Surf Team, our top juniors. The CD was sold exclusively on surf shop countertops and featured Slightly Stoopid, Pepper, Damian Marley & more. Then came Surf Roots Vol 2, and a series of CD release parties. That turned into the Surf Roots Tour, which ran all over the west coast for five summers featuring bands such as Common Sense, Ballyhoo, B Foundation, Dirty Heads, Sashamon, Tribal Seeds, Anuhea, The Green & more. Then in 2010 came the Surf Roots Radio app, the first ever 24-hour Reggae-Rock station. It quickly became the #1 Reggae station online (according to iTunes Radio) and created a new genre.
