Supporting Kidds is the only free-standing, nonprofit organization in Delaware devoted solely to supporting grieving children and their families. In Delaware, 1 in 10 children will experience the death of a parent or sibling by age 18. Judi’s House. (2023) CBEM. We believe that no child should ever grieve alone. Our mission is to provide a compassionate pathway to healing for grieving children and their families and to empower the community to support them on their grief journey. We offer individual counseling and groups at our center in Hockessin and in the community and schools.

We have officially wrapped up the 2023-2024 school year! Our Grief Groups are 2 Cohorts, each 6 weeks long. We travel to schools in Delaware to reach children who are unable to come to Our Center for services. Here are some stats on our 2023-2024 School Year Programs ? 53 Groups Held ? 18 Schools Served ? 273 Children Reached Here are some of our wonderful staff and interns who helped bring our Grief Groups into schools this year. They have worked tirelessly this year for the children and teens in their groups. They are truly WONDERFUL! This program relies on grants and donations every year. Each group costs roughly $4,500 to run. Without this program, 273 children would have not received the support they needed. For them, it is truly priceless!

We received $14,300 in matching donations, 168 individual donors during the campaign, and we won $2,600 in prize money during the 24-hour period! We came in 3rd place for the amount raised and 5th place for the number of donors on the small non-profit leaderboard. It was a great year! Thank you to everyone who donated this year. Thanks to people like you, we reach children where they are as they navigate through the pain and confusion that accompany the loss of a loved one.
