I'm surrendering to the feedback of my mentors and peers. My close network has been urging me to do more western work. As an artist of course I'm pulled in so many directions. I love #fitness and it's a huge part of my life, which is why I've spent so much time building that portfolio. But there's something magic about this western world that immediately cuts through the noise and reaches the heart of the audience. My aim is always to have the most impactful experience with the audience. So I've taken the cotton out of my ears. I've resisted it but I'm leaning into being the cowboy photographer and pushing my western work to the front of my portfolio. I'm diving two feet into my passion project Cowboys of Color. It feels right. It's an opportunity to align my values with purpose driven work. Tonight I will be photographing a Black bull rider in Riverside, CA and next week photographing and Native American & Aboriginal Cowboy who owns a Mustang Sanctuary in Joshua Tree, CA. I'll be sharing their stories on my instagram in an effort to use my platform to uplift the stories and careers of BIPOC cowboys. And I'm opening myself up for travel jobs in Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, etc. Anywhere that brings me to the heart of western culture to document and uplift this community.
