SHT's Bean and Bear Loop is reopened in time for fall color. A large portion of the renewal work is complete and the remainder will be completed in 2025. Don't forget, all 300-miles of the SHT are open and ready for adventure!

Superior Hiking Trail is mentioned in Sports Illustrated! We are listed as a hidden gem of hiking trails in the United States. "While popular trails like the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail get much of the spotlight, there are numerous lesser-known hiking gems across the United States that offer equally stunning landscapes and rewarding experiences."?

Heading to the SHT soon? Please use caution and report any issues to the SHTA. Two bridges on the Superior Hiking?Trail?are closed due to flood?damage after a storm released 2 to 9 inches of rainfall in single day onto the Arrowhead region. The East Branch Baptism River bridge near the Sonju Lake Road Trailhead and the Manitou River bridge in Crosby Manitou State Park are both closed after being damaged during the subsequent flooding. The Minnesota DNR has closed the Manitou River bridge until the bridge can be assessed for safety. The East Branch Baptism River bridge is washed out and will take time to replace. Reroutes around the closures are possible for?trail?users. More information can be found https://lnkd.in/gkY6aqNE

Upcoming Guided Hike: Brewer Park Loop June 22 @ 9:45 am?-?3:00 pm The Brewer Park Loop offers one of the most amazing views of the entire city of Duluth from Peace Ridge. Master Naturalists will lead the hike and facilitate conversations about phenology, geology, and ecology, among others.
