Business Analyst James Digamon, who's helping shape our company's future while serving as a Major in the Army Reserve, is a perfect example of this principle in action. When James joined us, he took a risk stepping off the traditional accounting career path. Our Organizational Development Manager, Jessica Paske, SHRM-CP, CPTD, has been honored with the Patriot Award from the United States Office of the Secretary of Defense. This prestigious recognition celebrates supervisors who provide exceptional support to National Guard and Reserve service members. Jessica was nominated by Superior Business Analyst James Digamon, CPA, who serves as a Major in the Army Reserve. He surprised her with the award at a recent event! The Patriot Award reflects Jessica's commitment to supporting citizen warriors through flexible scheduling, understanding military commitments, and providing genuine mentorship. "I've had other employers that didn't value military service. While they provided flexible scheduling, they did little else to support or empower reservists like me," James notes. "Jessica has gone above and beyond to help me learn and develop new skills. It really speaks to Superior's appreciation for veterans." During Women in Construction Week 2025, we're highlighting an important safety initiative at Superior Construction: providing our female field employees with properly fitted Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). "In the past, we were constantly adjusting our PPE because it was too loose. We really welcome these items!" - Amanda King, Journeyman Laborer, MidSouth Heavy Civil Division When PPE doesn't fit correctly, it creates unnecessary risks. Loose-fitting vests, oversized gloves, and improperly sized safety glasses can catch on machinery or impair movement. That's why in 2024, we introduced: ? Form-fitting safety vests ? Properly sized work gloves ? Women-specific safety glasses At Superior Construction, safety isn't one-size-fits-all. We're committed to ensuring every team member has the proper equipment to work safely and effectively.
