According to Pew Research Center, despite Hispanics making up to 17% of the total workforce, only 8% of Hispanics are in the STEM fields, and ONLY?3%?of these are females in STEM. Because of a complex cycle of historical inequities, socio-economic factors, stereotypes and biases, we see these gaps.? However, at SUPERGirls SHINE Foundation (SGSF), we're seeing an increase in Latina girls and women rising in STEM education, internships, certifications, graduation rates, STEM college degrees, careers and venture capital. The significant increase brings about economic mobility within underserved communities which helps to sustain our local, state, national and global economy. Therefore, let's celebrate these women, rising leadHERs and their accomplishments! Furthermore, let's look at ways we can collaborate in building to sustain the workforce pipeline through diverse mentorships, internships, scholarships and entrepreneurships/business ownerships.
