Swim season is officially over ??, but our Second Life Swim program with J.Crew is here to help you make space for your new winter wardrobe (sustainably). Just this year, over 15,000 swim items (from any brand!) have been kept out of landfill, with their recyclers rewarded with credit to shop new styles—here’s why it matters: ?? Most swimwear (>85%!) ends up in landfills, adding to the 25 million tons of textile waste each year. ? Synthetic fibers can take up to 1,000 years to break down, harming waterways and ecosystems along the way. ?? With recycling innovation across our network of best-in-class fiber recyclers, we’re able to give swim styles a second life through fiber-to-fiber and open-loop recycling. Give your old swim a new life and upgrade your winter closet today. Recycle here → https://lnkd.in/esrxrc8u #textilerecycling #swimrecycling #sustainablewardrobe #circularity

It’s National Recycling Day and we’re celebrating with our partners Parachute Home! Yesterday evening we had the pleasure of hosting a fireside chat with Parachute Home at their Flatiron NYC store with Parachute Founder, Ariel Kaye, and SuperCircle co-founder and CEO, Chloe Marie Songer.? We discussed the current state of the textile waste crisis, the importance of consumer choice in driving brands to adopt sustainable practices, and circularity as a profitable growth-driver for businesses. A big thank you Lindsey Coffey for moderating such a powerful discussion and bringing your unique perspective to our community. We launched our post-consumer recycling program with Parachute earlier this year and together we’ve diverted over 13,000 lbs of textile waste from landfill — and into recycling instead. In celebration of National Recycling Day, now, through 11/17 you can earn 25% off your next Parachute purchase when you recycle your pre-loved linens (from any brand) at any Parachute store nationwide. SKIMS is entering its sustainability era—and we’re here for it. Literally. In celebration of the SKIMS 5-year anniversary, Kim Kardashian and Jens Grede sat down with Financial Times to share a look behind the curtain of the shapewear brand’s journey to becoming a $4bn empire and what’s future holds. We’re teaming up with SKIMS to build the capabilities to responsibly capture textile waste, anywhere it falls out of the supply chain—including apparel, accessories, and fabric scraps, all while providing garment level tracking and tracing through responsible end-of-life. That’s a wrap on Climate Week 2024! The progress and momentum was truly felt this year with the most robust event roster yet, compelling brand activations, and endless opportunities to connect with our growing global community. A few highlights: 1?? We spent four days on the High Line as part of the Emerson Collective’s Climate Science Fair showcasing our “textile waste” sculpture and sharing SuperCircle’s mission and the work we are doing. We were blown away by the innovative showcases and connected with thousands of people with all different perspectives and backgrounds. From students and retirees on vacation, to brand leaders and technology innovators—we learned so much from each conversation. A huge thank you to The Emerson Collective for having us. 2?? We hosted an intimate dinner at the Bowery Hotel with circularity leaders and partners, discussing the challenges and innovations around the textile waste crisis. We also set our own personal climate intentions for the year ahead recognizing that our collective mission is also deeply personal. 3?? Our Thousand Fell x SuperCircle Climate Week Coffee cart popped up in the West Village in partnership with upcycled leather goods shop, HYER GOODS. We held an IRL recycling take-back, served up coffee and matcha to over 350 people and spread awareness around the importance of circular design practices and conscious consumption. We are looking forward to next year’s Climate Week, but until then, we’ll be planning more events and community moments for Circularity Week in April 2025 ?? News of the Week: Governor Newsom Ratifies California’s Responsible Textile Recovery Act (SB 707) California has officially made history this week as Governor Gavin Newsom ratified SB 707, the Responsible Textile Recovery Act, marking the first fashion and textile-focused Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation in the U.S. ?? This groundbreaking law will hold all brands selling in California accountable for textile waste, regardless of where they’re based. Producers will now be responsible for funding the collection, recycling, and reuse of their products—driving real change in circular solutions. We’re proud to have played an active role in progressing this legislation alongside our partners and friends Rachel Van Metre Kibbe at ACT (American Circular Textiles) and Kathleen Talbot at Reformation, among many more. At SuperCircle, we’re working with over 40 brands to ensure compliance and accelerate the shift towards a truly circular future—and you could be next. Send us a DM or reach out to [email protected] to learn how you can get started. California is setting a powerful precedent for the rest of the world to follow. We’re not just recycling textiles—we’re transforming the future of fashion ?? #CircularEconomy #SB707 #TextileRecovery #Sustainability #SuperCircle #FashionRevolution

So long, swim season ?? Our Second-Life swim recycling program with J.Crew is the most sustainable solution for your end-of-summer closet cleanout. Here’s why: 1. Swimwear often ends up in landfill, where it joins the 95 million tons of textile waste that hits landfill each year. 2. Once there, synthetic fibers can take up to 1000 years to break down—polluting waterways, damaging soil systems and contributing to warming. 3. With continued recycling innovation, we are now able to fiber-to-fiber and open-loop recycle swim, ensuring our styles live on for a second life Just this season, we’ve taken back over 10,000 swim items (from any brand) and rewarded recyclers with over $50k in J.Crew credit to redeem on anything (not just swim). That’s circularity in action!? Ready to give your swim a second life? Recycle here →?jcrew.supercircle.world/ #circularity #textilerecycling #fashionsustainability #secondlifeswim
