关于我们
Superbloom (formerly Simply Secure) operates at the intersection of digital design and human rights. Since our founding in 2014, we’ve expanded our original focus on usable design practice for secure technologies to include programmatic interventions and research on socio-technical issues like surveillance capitalism, disinformation, and digital consent. Today we work to overcome the alarming lack of available resources in the public interest technology space by openly sharing our knowledge and partnering with organizations to identify unmet needs, design for access, and extend the impact of newly built tools and interventions.

The conversations didn’t stop when the event ended. ?? The day after the kick-off event, the Nonprofit Tech Governance Congress met to create a plan of action for helping boards tackle tech. How can board members support nonprofit technology needs?? Our first session yielded insightful discussions, passionate debates, and a list of action items - stay tuned for these key outputs! A few themes emerged from our working session: - The field is wide open–there’s so little guidance for boards on how to talk about tech.? - That means basic resources are much in demand. Our first deliverable–coming out Q1–will be a list of key discussion questions for boards, across the four key areas of tech governance - It’s tempting to answer many questions about what boards should be doing with, “it depends”. And sometimes, it does depend on the situation, the board’s mandate, the CEO’s style. But we identified a solid set of foundational practices that all boards should adopt. Throughout this year, the Congress will deliver those practices in a set of actionable resources. Stay tuned!? We were lucky to have an incredible group of experts in the room, including: Amy Sample Ward, Chief Executive Officer, NTEN Anil Dash, VP of Developer Experience, Fastly; board member, Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) Chantal Forster, AI Strategy, Annenberg Foundation Darian Rodriguez Heyman, Former ED, Craigslist Charitable Fund; Author, AI for Nonprofits. Edima Elinewinga, CAE , VP and CTO, Association of Corporate Counsel Georgia Bullen, Executive Director, Superbloom Idalin Bobé, MBA, Founder, TechActivist.org Jim Fruchterman, Founder/CEO at Tech Matters John Mohr, CIO, MacArthur Foundation Kevin Barenblat, CEO, Fast Forward Nate Wong, Partner, The Bridgespan Group Sajit Joseph, Chief Digital and Transformation Officer, Tides; former Chief Innovation Officer, American Red Cross Satwik Seshasai, CTO, Atria Health Tara Andrews Huffman, JD, Chief Product and Strategy Officer, BoardSource And we’re lucky to another incredible group of Congress members who will be joining us next time: Alvina Antar, Former Chief Information Officer, Okta Oliver Hurst-Hiller, CTO and Head of Product, DonorsChoose Michael Belinsky, Director, AI Institute at Schmidt Sciences Erik Arnold, Former General Manager and Chief Technology Officer, Microsoft Philanthropies Erran Berger, VP Product Engineering, LinkedIn This is just the beginning. Nonprofits need strong tech governance, and we’re building the roadmap. #NonprofitTech #TechGovernance #AIforGood #BoardLeadership #SocialImpact
