Great morning of learning so far at Community Alliance with Family Farmers' 2024 California Small Farm Conference (not too late to register for a few more days of learning: details below). Two sessions in particular worth sharing about, particularly relevant to Sungold Consulting's focus on digitizing agricultural commerce data and transactions: - Perhaps less splashy than the recent great news about Thrive Market accepting SNAP benefits, there's some important work being done by Amy Crone at the National Association of Farmers Market Nutrition Programs' MarketLink program in conjunction with Eric R. Sannerud and Farm Generations Cooperative's GrownBy app to allow direct market farmers to accept SNAP in a mobile ecommerce platform for the first time. - Elizabeth Vaughan and CAFF's Small Farm Tech Hub debuted a new resource called the Small Farm Ecommerce Assessment Quiz. An important new tool in helping growers to start their ecommerce journeys.
